Attention Cruisers. . .

We are planning on going on a cruise sometime next winter(without kids) and would love to hear about your experiences. What did you like? Not like? Cruiseline? Did you book through an agent or online? Any information you would like to share or think would benefit us in our planning would be great. Thanks!!!!

I've been on 2 cruises. Both Carnival. Are you a member of Sams Club? They used to offer discounts through their website on cruises. We saved around $80 if I remember right.

Melanie - Hi! I've never been on a cruise, it's our goal to go on one next year too, after the wedding and everything else, but the couple I live with have been on 2 with Norwegian and they absolutely love it! They will probably book another one soon. So thats one to look into.

I've been on 2 Carnival cruises, too. They were a blast, and the food was awesome! The side tours are fun, too. I can't think of anything I didn't like. We just found the best deal online and went with it.

I have only been on one with the family. Phillip and his parents have been on at least 7. I have lots of opinions, too much to write :) It was absolutely WONDERFUL, but I would suggest there is nothing better than Royal Caribbean!!

I have been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Both amazing. Great food, great excursions. Would not recommend paying extra for a room with a window. When we had it we never were in the room to look out anyway! If I remember right, when we did the more southern routes we enjoyed it more. I would consider Carnival more of a party ship. They had A TON of activities and stuff going on all the time. Royal Caribbean did offer a lot, but was more relaxing and calm atmosphere. So it would totally depend on your mood. We truly liked them equally.

Hey Melanie!
In my opinion...LOVE cruising! The best part about it for us is that it forces us to go at a slower pace and actually relax. We are typically the type of vactioners that go see every sight possible...but with cruising you are on the boat for awhile so you don't have the temptation to go, go, go all the time. We did a Carnival cruise. It was nice. The biggest thing we weren't excited about was sharing a table at dinner with other people. We wanted to be loners. But there are certain cruise ships now where you get the option to dine at your own private table...I want to say Norwegian, but not positive on that. I second the opinion on not worrying about getting a room with a view...not really needed.
