The Wedding

So the whole reason we headed south was to take in my cousin, Kayla's wedding in Oklahoma.  It was so fun to get to hang out with family and be a part of the festivities.  I barely took any pics while I was there.  Too busy visiting with family.  I "borrowed" some from Kim's blog!  Thanks!
Alaina in the nursery during the wedding.  (She's in pink!)  The cutie look alikes behind her are my youngest cousins, John and Kane.  The two with their backs to the camera are my cousin, Kim's twins, Allie and Ryan.  There are 4 sets of twins on my mom's side of the family.  (No worries for me, it isn't genetic.)
Alaina and Allie
Waiting patiently to let go of their balloons.
The happy couple!
So cool to see all the balloons!
A rare photo of Mommy with Alaina!
Aunt Amber introducing her dog, Lucky, to all the kids.
Paige with Allie.  Allie actually liked this!

Wonderscope!

While in Kansas City, we took in Wonderscope, the children's museum.  It was the first time we had ever been there and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed.  The girls had fun and that's all that matters.  I am very thankful that we have a membership to the Iowa Children's Museum so we didn't have to pay to get in.

THANK YOU!

I stole this off my friend Rachel's blog!  Click on the article to make it bigger and readable.

My Little Fishies!

Waiting patiently to head to the hotel pool!
I think this was my favorite. . .watching them run with their swim rings on.
Playing with Daddy!
Alaina was a sight to see.  My little 27 month old swimming in the big pool all by herself with her arm wings on.  She loved the freedom and wasn't a bit scared.  If you asked her to float, she would lay her little head back and pull her tummy and legs out of the water to float on her back.  Soooo cute!
Who's going to get it first.
My little fishy!
Paige enjoys swimming, too.  She is a bit more cautious than her little sister, but had made HUGE strides in swimming.
You can see in the following videos how great Paige is doing at swimming on her own with her face in the water.  I'm so proud of her!

Kansas City Zoo!

We took a short family vacation last week to Kansas City on our way to Oklahoma for my cousin Kayla's wedding.  We went to the zoo and had a great time.
Watching the turtles eat!

The giraffes were Paige's favorite.
And one obliged us by coming right over.

And eating from the tree we were standing under.
We had to take a pic of the Meerkat.  (Recognize him from Madagascar?)
It was a nice zoo and had some fun bridges to cross.
We splurged and bought unlimited rides on the train, tram, and carousel.  Defnitely money well spent!
I had to take a picture of Alaina's curls.  I never thought I would get a child with curls and I'm sure they won't last.  So here is my picture to remember them.

Dress up?

My girls like to dress up.  But not in the traditional sense that a 2 and 4 year old would dress up.  We have LOTS of princess dresses that they barely use.  Instead, my girls migrate to the winter accessories.  (Sorry for the poor quality.)
