Alaina's Dedication

We dedicated Alaina to the Lord on November 23rd at Grace Community Church. We waited to dedicate her until now because we wanted to be sure about what church family we are going to raise our children in. Mark and I have been members of Parkview for many years and Paige was dedicated there. We truly like Parkview and love Pastor Jeff's sermons, but the size was just too much for us. It wasn't feeling like home. After some visiting, we have decided to make Grace our home. We are really happy and Paige loves it. So, naturally, this is where we decided to dedicate Alaina. It was a very nice service and we look forward to raising our family in this church. We dedicate our children to the Lord to acknowledge that they are not ours. They belong to God and with the help of the church family we will do our best to raise them in wisdom and love in hopes that someday they will recognize for themselves that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour. This is my prayer for my girls. We picked out a verse for Paige, but haven't had the chance to pick one for Alaina yet. But when Paige was born we chose Deut. 6:5-10 as our family passage. It says,

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Grandpa and Grandma Safly and Papa and Nana Vigneron came to help us celebrate. It was a fun weekend, though we were all a little sniffly with colds.

We were blessed to be able to dedicate Alaina with many of our friends and family.

Alaina enjoyed playing with Grandma Safly.

Paigey playing with Grandpa. She's such a good cashier. She definitely takes after her mama.

I have no words for this crazy picture.
